Inspiration:
Prior to the mating period of bighorn sheep, the rams attempt to establish a hierarchy to determine access to the ewes of the herd. It is during this period that horn clashing occurs between rams. Used as both a weapon and a shield, the horns of a full-grown male are depicted here in bronze.
