Admiral Nimitz Bronze Sculpture

Inspiration:
Rip was selected by the Naval Order of the United States and commissioned to sculpt the monumental portrait memorial of Admiral Chester Nimitz, which is installed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii along Battleship Row near the U.S.S. Missouri.

A second copy of the original sculpture was also placed at the Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg, TX, Nimitz’s hometown. It was an honor for Rip to sculpt this WWII hero’s image and he learned so much about our “greatest generation” and about his own grandfather, a Navy seaman who served under Nimitz during the war.
